I live at a summer camp, it's true. I teach environmental ed./outdoor ed. among other things, since I am the Environmental Education Assistant. I work for Americorps-WCC/Washington Dept. of Ecology. I have a B.A. in foreign language teaching (specialization: Spanish), but quickly found that I did not feel comfortable, fulfilled, or even welcome in the public schools.
So, here I am taking (baby) steps toward my career goal of directing a summer camp!
As you might expect from someone who lives in the woods, I love it. During my time off, I like to go do things in Seattle with the goons. I also like to go to other remote wildernesses (or is that wildernii?) to summit (small) mountains and spend the night with nature. |
